Hi, I’m LadyPhlogiston.  This is my blog about God and science and sex and cooking and baby poop.  I have a brain and I’m not afraid to use it.

The religion thing: I’m a Messianic Jew, which means I’m a Jew who believes in Yeshua (Jesus) as the promised Messiah of Israel.  We celebrate the Jewish holidays, and we keep biblically kosher (meaning we don’t eat pork and shellfish but we do eat milk and meat together.)  I firmly believe that all truth is God’s truth, and that He expects us to use our brains to figure out the world around us.  I also believe that love and respect for all people is far more important (and far more within God’s will) than making them follow rules which they may or may not recognize as valid.

I have a devotional blog called Truth by Bits.

I have a college degree in Mechanical Engineering, but I’m not using it, at least for now.  I worked for Sensuous Wife for a while, helping set up the site and develop their offerings, and now I’m figuring out how to be the best mother and wife and creative person I can be.

The cast of characters: I live with Hero, my wonderful husband, and Beauty, my baby girl.  I have quite a bit of family nearby, including my parents, my three sisters (C, N, and S), my brother (T), my in-laws (G and M) and my sister-in-law B.  They’re all pretty wonderful people.

I’m the oldest of my siblings.  C is two years younger than me, and she’s trained as a massage therapist but mostly not working due to crippling chronic migraine headaches.  N is four years younger than me and will graduate with a business degree soon.  T is 8 years younger than me, and studying engineering, and S is 13 years younger than me and studying anything she can get her hands on.  They are also awesome.  B is a few years older than me and works as a paralegal and is one of the most scary-smart people I know.

Hi I clicked on a link from a message on my blog, you don’t appear to show your name so I am assuming I am at the right place! Thanks so much for commenting, here is my reply to the question where do I get my flavours for the lip balm? I personally use the normal flavourings from the supermarket which I use for baking. There may be other alternatives but I like to keep things cheap and simple! PS: I love the name of your blog!
